Head of Editorial Content – GQ Mexico,LATAM

The Head of Editorial Content will lead GQ Mexico/LATAM editorial team and will be responsible for developing local digital-first editorial strategies to drive editorial excellence, audience growth and revenue; contributing ideas for global GQ editorial projects; and bringing regional expertise to global audience development and revenue opportunities.


Accountabilities/ Responsibilities

  • Set and oversee local editorial direction and strategy across site, social, video and print (aligned with overall global priorities) to grow audience and drive revenue
  • Work closely with Global Content Strategy Director, Global Audience Development Director and CNE to implement digital, video and social best practices
  • As part of Global Leadership Committee, contribute story, talent and strategic ideas for all GQ global editorial projects, including global print stories
  • Oversee all local editorial direction and content production, including lineup customization, proofing, and flagging content for legal/regional sensitivities, in alignment with overall global strategies and priorities and assigning/editing multi-platform content
  • Work closely with GQ Editorial Operations team to achieve editorial content and page budget targets and strategize on editorial content efficiencies across digital, video, and social platforms
  • Collaborate closely with commercial and consumer revenue teams to support revenue-driving opportunities
  • Act as in-market brand ambassador, hosting events and liaising with commercial clients as required
  • Potential to pitch and write stories for digital and print, conducting interviews and research as required
  • Work closely with local HR, Finance, Director of Operations and Global Editorial Director to bring on new hires
  • Manage local editorial team including goal setting, resolving HR issues, and focusing on building team morale
  • Serve as regional representative on the new GQ Global Leadership Team

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in men’s fashion media with strong digital-first focus and connections to Mexico and LATAM fashion and entertainment industries
  • Passion for GQ’s cultural point of view and commitment to setting local editorial vision in line with global editorial direction
  • Extremely strong editorial skills and experience assigning and editing high-volume of multi-platform content
  • Proven leader with ability to empower, mentor and inspire nimble editorial team
  • Creative and innovative thinker who will bring inventive new ideas to editorial development
