CONDÉ NAST DE MÉXICO S.A. DE C.V., is a Variable Capital Corporation (Sociedad Anónima) incorporated under the laws of the Mexican Republic, with domicile at 415 Montes Urales, 4th floor, Colonia Lomas de Chapultepec, Postal Code 11000, Miguel Hidalgo District, Mexico City, Mexico, same company that belongs to the common interest financial group designated ADVANCE GROUP, headed by ADVANCE MAGAZINE PUBLISHERS, INC, which is formed by several companies legally and corporately related globally, who undertakes, among other activities, the edition, publishing and marketing of illustrated magazines, the websites of the following magazines: “Architectural Digest Mexico”, “Glamour Mexico”, “GQ Mexico”, “Vanity Fair” and “Vogue Mexico”, the administration and production of contents for said magazines, as well as their respective advertising sales and marketing, both in the websites and in the print magazines.

PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT

Users are informed that CONDÉ NAST DE MÉXICO S.A. DE C.V. shall request and collect personal data from subscribers (being those persons who pay for and periodically receive any of the titles published by the company) and website users over any of the following channels: online, by telephone, or in person, in the form of physical or electronic subscriptions, either directly or through partnerships with other companies. CONDÉ NAST DE MÉXICO S.A. DE C.V. is responsible for handling your personal data, regardless of how they may be collected.

The personal data we collect is the following:

  • Whenever data is collected from non-subscriber users, it consists in their name and e-mail. In some instances, telephone number, sex, age, date of birth, place of birth, and state of residence will also be collected when due to the workings of the promotions or advertising campaigns these latter are required to contact the data owner or to comply with the conditions to be able to participate in a promotion, raffle or contest.

 

  • When data is collected from subscribers, name, address, e-mail, sex, age, date of birth, and telephone number will be collected; as well as the credit card information with which the subscription will be paid.

We do not collect sensitive information from the users, for which there is no need to obtain the express and written consent from the owners.

We have adopted all security measures appropriate and reasonable to preserve the confidentiality and security of the financial data you provide to us, for which CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. All data shall always be collected directly, CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. does not use any kind of public or private-access source to obtain data in addition to that directly provided by the data owner, for which the owners themselves are responsible for the accuracy, suitability, and appropriateness of the data provided, as well as for their subsequent update.

WHY WE COLLECT DATA

The purposes for which we collect data are split into primary and secondary, according to the following:

  • Primary:

In the case of subscribers, the primary purposes are to collect payment for services, send out copies of subscribed magazines to homes, giving access to and making online magazines available to subscribers on that channel and for contacting the subscriber at the end of their subscription in order to renew it, if required.

In the case of non-subscribers, the primary purpose is to send out advertising promotions, company information, contests, prizes, and any other kind of information related to the commercial activities of CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V., as well as to contact users in the event of their winning a raffle or contest.

Personal data may also be used for sending out advertising, information and promotions from third parties with which CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. has a business relationship. However, said mailings are undertaken by CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. and not by said third parties.

  • Secondary:

 

In the case of subscribers, the secondary purpose is for mailing out advertising promotions, company information, contests, prizes and any kind of information related to the commercial activities of CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V., as well as to contact users in the event that they win a prize in a raffle or contest.

 

Personal data may also be used for sending out advertising, information, and promotions from third parties with which CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. has a business relationship. However, said mailings are undertaken by CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. and not by said third parties.

EXERCISING ARCO RIGHTS

In accordance with the Federal Act for the Protection of Personal Data in the Possession of Private Parties, the owner of the personal data has, at all times, the right to access, modify and delete their personal data, as well as to object to the handling thereof, or revoke the consent given for such effect (ARCO Rights), via the procedures we have put in place for such purposes.

In the case of the primary purposes described above, the owner of personal data is aware that the exercising of their rights of objection or deletion may render the provision of services contracted from CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. impossible, and hence in the case of subscribers, this right is limited and must adhere to the special subscription cancellation procedure in place for processing cancellations, otherwise, CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. shall not be responsible for any ARCO rights request which would prevent the provision of a service contracted by the user.

For the exercising of ARCO rights, the owner must send an e-mail to the person responsible for data handling at CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. at the following e-mail address: datos.personales@condenast.com.mx, or, submit a printed request, signed by the owner of the data, at the address shown at the top of this privacy notice; expressing as succinctly and as clearly as possibly, the request at hand.

The rights request must be labeled with the reference REQUEST TO EXERCISE ARCO RIGHTS and the full name of the owner of the data, as well as include a simple copy of the identity document of the owner of the personal data, in order to ensure the identity thereof.

If the rights request is made by a person other than the owner, this person must be able to demonstrate their mandate and having sufficient authority to act as agent, with a legal document upholding such, as well as to attach copies of the identity documents of the owner of the data and the agent.

TRANSFERS AND SHARING WITH THIRD PARTIES

CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. will not transfer your data to third parties, so it is not necessary to obtain express consent for such purposes. No transfers or sharing of data with third parties shall be deemed to occur when CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. shares or stores data collected with the companies belonging to the same financial group ADVANCE GROUP, since consent granted is understood to extend to the whole ADVANCE GROUP, collected by CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. on behalf of the whole financial group.

Transfers may be made to third parties within the country or abroad, including, without limitation, to service providers, publicists, and persons other than this company, for the sole purpose of providing services and performing their activities; CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V. has adopted the technical and legal measures necessary for ensuring that any third party that may come to be involved at any stage of Personal Data Handling, shall maintain confidentiality with regards to such, in order to provide information for the convenience and benefit of the user.

Specifically, in the case of subscribers to the online magazines of CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A. DE C.V., it shall use the services of Zinio, LLC, domiciled at 7900 International Dr, #800, Bloomington, MN 55425, USA (“Zinio”) as its supplier of services for access platform, administration, retrieval and management of online subscribers, so personal data belonging to online subscribers shall be shared with ZINIO, which shall process personal data for the direct benefit, under the policies and guidelines and on the instructions of CONDÉ NAST MÉXICO, S.A.
