Reporting to the CEO, Mexico & Latin America, the VP of Marketing and Consumer Revenue, will be based at the central Ciudad de Mexico working with the different countries within the regional market to grow and build this area of the business. This role will lead the marketing teams,implement tactical and strategic communications plans, building audiences, and monetising through print and digital audiences through newsstand, subscription, memberships, commerce, events, and new go to market products.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • To work alongside the Mexico & Latin America CEO, to grow and build our consumer revenue team, managing consumer P&Ls for region and delivering consumer revenue goals for the region
  • Responsible for revenue generation, consumer marketing strategy, and go-to-market plans in Latin America, and for all consumer revenue lines including print, subscriptions, newsstand, commerce, memberships, events, including and identifying new revenue opportunities
  • Responsible for media and marketing budgets across all relevant markets, ensuring they are delivering against business goals. This includes re-evaluating the media mix when business goals are not being met
  • Work alongside global teams to deliver profitable and world class subscription and membership programmes, building new propositions and go-to-market strategies across our hero brands
  • Ownership of commerce and e-commerce go to market plans
  • Management of consumer events, driving and executing consumer revenue from global events calendar across all brands
  • Strong focus in growing audiences across Mexico & Latin America with special attention to qualitative metrics
  • Evolve audiences from unknown to known building communities through paid and owned marketing activities
  • To protect our print circulation, through newsstand and subscriptions, working with regional teams to drive circulation plans and reporting on print sales activity centrally
  • Deliver pricing strategies and promotional calendar, for all key marketing activity
  • Working with the global marketing teams to bring to life customer cohorts, profiles and insights to inform all marketing activity
  • Review marketing collateral, joining up brand communication to audience and insights working alongside Global Condè Nast teams
  • Work with all vendors managing customers, subscriptions, and distribution – developing sound distribution strategies across all markets
  • Development and leadership of Mexico & Latin America consumer team
  • Update business with market trends, developments and learnings

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to own and drive P&L of a consumer revenue business
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and business acumen
  • Change management experience
  • Experience in building teams from ground up, forming new cross market operating models
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator with cross functional teams
  • Extensive marketing experience, including working and effectively collaborating with global teams in a matrix organisation
  • Good understanding of publishing and media industry
  • Ability to speak multiple languages, desirable
  • Prepared to travel
